Although our background is firmly entrenched in mainstream media (radio & TV) our passion has always been pets.
Over the last 10-12 years we've seen the whole Aussie pet industry explode with new products and services, specialist pet foods and medicines, and a recognition by pet owners generally that veterinarians are a first port of call for a sick animal not a last resort.
We now have alternative therapies for our pets and hi-tech veterinary care that puts most regional and some city hospitals to shame! There are huge pet-store chains offering a seemingly endless variety of products and services.
Who would have thought just a few years ago you could take your dog to a pet shop to wash it yourself or that someone would come to your home to do the same thing?
Although there are literally thousands of small home based pet related businesses, it's obvious that overall the pet and animal industry is big business and we hope to keep all pet owners and business owners up to date with the best and the worst the industry has on offer.
REMEMBER:
Never forget that the old time snake-oil salesman still exists in this world and we hope that between EssentialPET... and Pet Product Reviews to help ensure you - and we - don't get ripped off. In fact this was our original intention when we developed our radio show called Pet Talk Radio! which was heard on around 50 radio stations and the internet every week for 6 years.
The show continues to be popular on-line. However EssentialPET... is NOT Pet Talk Radio! - the radio show was also light entertainment and covered many other things not always pet related.
But entertainment and information can and should go together and EssentialPET... is meant to 'get to the the facts' as quickly as possible by providing quality stories and general information to help owners of almost any species of animals.
We have a huge archive of timeless audio stories full to the brim with information we know will help someone.... and we will share many of those with you on Pet Stuff!... Of course we hope you will also take a look at Pet Product Reviews if you haven't already. And if you have a pet product or service yourself, feel free to add it to that site.
